Art can come in many forms, as long as it comes from the heart. That’s what an artist named Cristoforo Scorpiniti has proven, by using an outside-the-box method of painting to create art that wakes up in the dark. Cristoforo has managed to create art that glows in the darkness, a product of years of research and experimentation, by using special acrylic paints that give life to his creations.

Enlighten is a proud ambassador of art, especially for artists that have taken the road less traveled, and we’re sure the following 15 paintings will light up your creative spark as well.

The colors used by Cristoforo react and change their brightness depending on the level of light they receive.

The colors become more intense in dark conditions, and due to their fluo/phosphorescent properties, the paint will react to UV light, becoming much brighter.

According to the artist, the colors can maintain their fluorescent traits for over 80 years, if kept in good conditions.

Cristoforo changes the intensity of the light by adding water and diluting the colors with other acrylic paints. Once the paint is all dry, Cristoforo places the painting in a room-temperature room in order to preserve them for as long as possible.

The glow-in-the-dark acrylic paint is considered a source of renewable light energy, and thanks to its photoluminescent properties, it absorbs all surrounding light and reflects it in dark conditions.

By creating 2 paintings within the same composition, Cristoforo is set to challenge the idea that paintings should only be appreciated in full light, and the results are truly awe-inspiring.
